Pageant School

I attended "Miss Connecticut's Pageant School" hosted by our current Miss Connecticut, Ashley Glenn, and the Board of Directors. I almost didn't go because I haven't been feeling well but I am so happy I changed my mind. I had the pleasure of hearing our Board members explain what they expect of a titleholder as well as hear from some of our state sponsors.

The most impactful speaker was perhaps Penny Pearlman, Connecticut resident and author of Pretty Smart: Lessons from Our Miss Americas. Her speech really hit home for me. Listening intently, I jotted down notes and pieces of advice she had mentioned for anyone pursuing a dream. Her "Bumblebee Theory" is right on point with what I have been feeling most of my life. Of course I purchased her book...FIVE books actually. I plan on giving them as gifts to a few pageant friends.

Today, I have a whole new outlook on my current aspirations. I feel empowered... I am focused... I am ready!

Thank you to Miss Connecticut - Ashley Glenn and the Board members for a fabulous seminar. It was really an eye opener and I learned so much!
