CCMC Cycle of Life

June 7, 2009 is "National Cancer Survivor's Day"

I had the opportunity to attend the Connecticut Children's Medical Center's "Cycle of Life 2009" event. It was an extraordinary celebration for children who have survived or who are currently undergoing treatment for cancer. Cycle of Life is a very special day for the young cancer patients and their families in the CCMC's care at the Division of Hematology and Oncology.

The event was held at Saint Joseph College in West Hartford and featured a wide variety of interactive games and activities that center around the major themes of nutrition and exercise. Of course, I LOVE anything that relates to health & fitness (considering it is my platform!) but it was also a great way to celebrate those that have fought and are still fighting the disease and just have some fun!!

All proceeds benefited the REACH for the STARS Survivorship Program.

This beautiful 5 year old girl is a 3 year cancer survivor.
She was the sweetest and most active little girl ever!

Miss Connecticut Pageant Production Rehearsal

Today we had rehearsal for all the Miss and Outstanding Teen contestants to learn our opening number. We met our coreographer, Billy who is so funny and very talented. The dance is fun and I love the song choice. Just you wait and see!!!

After rehearsal we all stopped by Billy's parents house for a BBQ. The food was absolutely delicious and hit the spot after a long day of rehearsal!

Thank you to Mr & Mrs Griffin for welcoming us into your home, Father Paul of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church for allowing to rehearse at the Church, and to Luis & Stan for all that they do!

I can't believe the pageant is about 3 weeks away!!! Time flies :)
